How does Laser Hair Removal Work?

At The Skincare Studio, we use advanced Candela Gmax Pro technology, featuring both Alexandrite and YAG laser wavelengths, to deliver safe, effective, and long-term hair reduction across all skin types.

The laser targets melanin (pigment) within the hair shaft. The light energy is absorbed and converted into heat, which damages the hair follicle to inhibit future growth. Treated hairs will naturally shed over the following days and weeks.

Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are required to target follicles in the anagen (active growth) phase—the only stage where permanent damage to the follicle can be achieved.

Please note: Laser is most effective on dark hair and lighter skin. While our dual-wavelength system allows us to treat deeper skin tones safely with YAG technology, laser hair removal is not effective on grey, white, or very light blonde hairs due to the lack of melanin.
